When Spinach AI is the better choice

  • Meetings turn into tickets. On paid plans Spinach AI creates tickets in Jira, Monday, Asana, Linear, ClickUp and Trello, updates HubSpot, Salesforce, Attio and Zoho, and writes to Confluence, Google Docs and Notion. Dalm does none of this.
  • A whole company uses one account. Starter is a company-wide account, and Pro has no seat minimum and bills by the meeting hour.
  • You need paperwork for a review. Spinach AI states SOC 2 Type II, GDPR and HIPAA compliance. Dalm holds no certification.
  • Not everyone who records is on a Mac. Spinach AI records the meeting platforms it lists — Zoom, Meet, Teams, Webex and Slack Huddles — and in-person meetings; its pages do not name the computers it needs. Dalm is a Mac app for Apple Silicon · macOS 15.0 or later.

When Dalm is the better choice

  • The speech is recognised on your Mac. Dalm turns speech into text on the Mac you are using, sends no audio anywhere and deletes the audio once the text exists. The text does leave: each transcript goes to our servers automatically, a language model reads it to write the summary, and no setting turns that off. How local and cloud recognition differ.
  • Nothing ages out. No plan puts a limit on recording minutes, on the length of a recording, or on how long anything is kept. Spinach AI’s free plan keeps recordings for 7 days.
  • Quotes that lead back. Every point of a summary keeps a word-for-word quote. Every quote shows you where it was said — open it and the transcript opens at that place.
  • Dictation in the same app. Hold a key in any app, speak, and the words go where the cursor is. Everything you say lands in one archive you can search: meetings, phone calls, conversations in the room, and what you dictate to a model.

Looking for a Spinach AI alternative?

If you want a record of your own meetings rather than a team’s meeting pipeline, Dalm works that way on your Mac: speech is recognised there and the audio is deleted. The text still goes to our servers, where a language model writes the summary, so it is not an app that keeps everything on one machine. If your standups have to land in a tracker, Spinach AI is built for that. A page for the minutes themselves is the meeting minutes template, and seven note takers are compared by name. Paid plans are on the pricing page.
